IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elsie
Loveland
December 1, 1921 – June 10, 2017
Elsie Loveland passed away peacefully with her family at her side on June 10, 2017, in Idaho Falls. She was 95 years young.
Elsie was born on December 1, 1921, just outside Marsh, Montana. She was one of ten children born to parents Emanuel Irion and Metlia Matilda Schlenz. She was a proud first generation American.
She was raised along the Yellowstone River in eastern Montana. Her earliest years were filled with school, helping on the family farm, and playing along the river.
After finishing her formal education, Elsie moved to Anaconda, Montana where she, met, fell in love with her first love and married Loren Loveland. Mr. Loveland was a widower independently raising two young girls, Gaye and Dawn. Instantly, Elsie fell in love with Gaye and Dawn and watched them grow over seventy-seven years into wonderful women, mothers, and grandparents. Loren and Elsie had four children of their own, George, Barbara, Carl and Ruth.
In the mid-1940s Elsie and Loren moved from Montana to Washington and finally settled in Oceanside, California in the mid-1960s. While Loren was a farmer and facility maintenance manager, Elsie was an exceptional employee and manager in the fruit packing and HAM radio manufacturing industries. She then was a small business owner. Loren passed in 1980 in Oceanside and Elsie continued to live in Oceanside for a total of fifty-six years.
In her spare time Elsie loved to bowl. She was an outstanding bowler and reach the San Diego amateur regional bowling finals numerous times.
Family was Elsie's first priority and frequently hosted members of her large family in Oceanside. Dozens and dozens on family members would come from all over the country to enjoy here company, spaghetti dinners, and one of her favorite places, Buccaneer beach.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Emanuel and Matilda Irion, seven of her nine siblings, and her husband Loren.
She is survived by her very large and loving family that includes her children; Gaye Johnson, Dawn Oswald, George Loveland, Barbara Watts, Carl Loveland and Ruth Walles. She is also survived by "almost as many as you can count" grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even a few great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of her 95-year Life will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in the Community Room at the MorningStar Senior Living, 4000 South, 25th East, Idaho Falls.
