Obituary

Elva Smith Wilmot, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. She was born May 8, 1922, in Georgetown, Idaho, the daughter of Lewis Leon Smith and Marietta Weaver Smith. She grew up and attended schools there. In 1940, she graduated from Georgetown High School. On Feb. 29, 1944, she married Ted D. Wilmot Sr. in Pocatello. They were later divorced. Elva worked for 30 years in the potato industry and lived in Pocatello besides living in Georgetown and Idaho Falls. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elva loved fishing. She is survived by her son, Ted D. (LaRue) Wilmot Jr. of Idaho Falls; a daughter, Marietta (Jim) Harris of Boise, Idaho; 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Paula Lorietta Brown, and a grandson, Bradley Grant Wilmot. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the services at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., in Idaho Falls.
