Elvin Roy (Shorty) McAlister, 67, of Soda Springs, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at his home. He was under the care of Symbii Hospice.

Elvin was born on June 8, 1954, to Elvin Roy McAlister and Lois Emma Price McAlister in Rupert, Idaho. He grew up in Soda Springs.

On October 28, 1999, he married Jill Kennidy in Soda Springs. Jill passed away on December 3, 2020.

Elvin was a mechanic by trade however he enjoyed fixing anything. He was a big man with a big heart and big sense of humor.

He is survived by his children: Waynn McAlister of Soda Springs, Idaho and Wendy (Paul) Allen of Chubbuck, Idaho; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Lois McAlister; and his wife, Jill McAlister.
