Emma Rose
Weston Grimmett
May 10, 1922 – September 3, 2016
Emma Rose Weston Grimmett, 94, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016, at her home at Lincoln Court. Encompass Hospice assisted her family with her care.
She was born May 10, 1922, in Laketown, Utah to Albert Robinson Weston and Elda Elizabeth Dixon Weston. She grew up in Laketown and attended North Rich High School. She continued her education at Brigham Young University but earned her doctorate of life's lessons in Relief Society.
On January 6, 1942, she married Earl Shepherd Grimmett in the Logan LDS Temple. After 59 years of marriage, Earl passed away May 11, 2001. The first years of married life were spent as a student-wife at the University of Idaho in Moscow where Earl was a student, then as an Army wife during World War II. Post war years included more schooling and employment moves which resulted in residences in Azusa, California; Salt Lake City; Green River, Wyoming; Pocatello and since 1952 in Idaho Falls. She spent a few years in the work-place first in admissions at the Sacred Heart Hospital and later at the State Department of Employment.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Emma Rose served as a Stake Relief Society Counselor, Stake Young Woman's President, a teacher in all of the auxiliaries and as a temple worker.
She was involved with the Republican Party and was a member of The Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She wrote many programs for church and community activities. She was a lover of words-writing stories, poetry, productions and journaling; all for which she had a passion for. She enjoyed many hours quilting and her family described her as a "clean freak". Emma Rose loved the mountains particularly being able to identify wild flowers and collecting them. She loved her family and extended family.
Emma Rose is survived by her children: Kenneth Earl (Pat) Grimmett of Boise; Lawrence Weston (Kathy) Grimmett of Boise; Russell Weston (Linda) Grimmett of Arlington, Texas; Marcia G. (David) Mason of Idaho Falls; sisters: Marie Humphrey of Murray, Utah and Wanda Panhorst of Orem; 12 grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren.
