Ephraim Eugene Stucki, 85, of Idaho Falls, died January 3, 2006, at his home. He had been under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
He was born December 17, 1920, in Coltman to Jacob Stucki and Mary Anna Butikofer Stucki. He grew up in Coltman and attended and graduated from Ucon High School in 1939. He served with the United States Army as a Staff Sargent during World War II.
On May 29, 1944, he married Lavern Poplin in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He farmed all of his life in the Coltman area where he raised beef cattle. He worked for Yost Office Systems for 10 years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1937, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and from 1940-42, he served a mission in the Texas Louisiana Mission. He served as a Scoutmaster, in the Bishopric and on the High Counsel.
He enjoyed growing roses, farming, raising cattle, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and neighbor.
He is survived by the following: wife, Lavern P. Stucki of Idaho Falls daughter, Annett (Gerald) Esplin of Twin Falls daughter, Patrees Stucki of Idaho Falls son, Clyde E. (Charlotte) Stucki of Rexburg daughter, Becky (Monty) Smith of Georgetown, Idaho 12 grandchildren 7 great- grandchildren brother, Ray (Arlene) Stucki of Idaho Falls brother, Conley (Beverly) stucki of Idaho Falls brother, Roger (Donna) Stucki of Coltman sister, Amy Brinton of Idaho Falls sister, Betty (Jerry) Peterson of Rigby
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Victor, Amos, and Oscar Stucki, brother-in-law, Howard Brinton; sisters, Rhoda Tyler and Verda Coyne.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. January 7, 2006, at the Coltman LDS First Ward Chapel, 12448 N. 5th E. (Lewisville Highway) with Bishop Larry Clayton officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the church and on Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
