Eric Flynn Freitas, 49, of West Jordan, UT, died July 16, 2013, at the home of his cousin in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was born September 9, 1963, in Las Vegas, NV to Frank and Gail Ryder Freitas. He was raised in El Cajon, CA, and Idaho Falls, ID. He graduated from Bonneville HIgh School in Idaho Falls in 1981. He attended Ricks College in Rexburg, ID and graduated from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, UT with a Bachelors Degree in secondary education. Eric lived and worked in the Salt Lake City area. He coached high school athletics. He was a teacher in the Granite School District. Eric's most proud moments were coaching Baseball and Football at Kearns and Granger High Schools. He was currently teaching at Matheson Jr. High in Magna, UT. Eric loved body building, and won the title of Mr. Utah several times. He is survived by his brother; Donald R. Peariso of San Diego, CA; aunt, Phyllis Hudson of Idaho Falls, ID; 4 cousins, Lori Duncan (Don) of Idaho Falls, ID, Kristi Richardson (Randy) of Idaho Falls, ID, Dani Kohler (Ryan) of Idaho Falls, ID, and Tim Hudson of Salt Lake City, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Gail Freitas, his uncle, Lee Hudson, and by his cousin Kelli Hudson. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Ammon LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 3000 Central Ave. in Ammon, Idaho with Bishop Ryan Kohler officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
