He was born July 15, 1974 in Pocatello, Idaho to Ronnie Dale Summers and Peggy Lee Shane Summers. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated in 1992, from Skyline High School. He earned his welding degree from Idaho State University and his plumbing degree from Eastern Idaho Technical College.

He married Sandy Ford and they later divorced. On October 20, 2001, he married Stephanie Bird in Idaho Falls. He worked for Premier- Cedar Rapids, American Fabrications, and at the time of his death he was working at First Street Plumbing.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a member of IFTMA, Blue Ribbon Coalitions, and Hells Half Acre 4X4 Club. He enjoyed dirt biking, 4-wheeling, 4X4 activities, camping, hunting with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Summers of Idaho Falls; his son, Dillon Summers of Kennewick, WA; two daughters, Katie Summers of Kennewick, WA, and Brittney Summers of Idaho Falls; two step-daughters, Anastasia Lathouris of Idaho Falls, and Karina Lathouris of Idaho Falls; his parents Ron D. And Peggy Summers of Idaho Falls, a brother, Kenny (Stacey) Summers of Boise, his sister Kerensa Summers of Boise; and by his grandmothers, Mozelle Goetz of Idaho Falls, and Bonnie Shane Roper of Idaho Falls.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006, at the New Sweden Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the services at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to a Memorial Fund at the Bank of Commerce in the name of Eric Summers in care of Steve Bird for the children's college education.
