Ethel Marie Lindsay, 95, of Sisters, Oregon, and formerly of Ririe, died July 20, 2013, at her daughter's home in San Jose, California. She was born on March 25, 1918, in Rigby, Idaho, to Franklin Johnson Fowers and Elizabeth Lousie Schnider Fowers. She grew up in Lewisville and Ogden, Utah. She graduated from high school in Ogden, Utah, in 1936. She married James Alfred Lindsay. He passed away on December 12, 1987. After high school, she lived in Rigby and worked at Reed Drug and then moved to Ririe in 1956. She worked at Ferrells in Idaho Falls. In 1976, she moved to Aloha, Oregon, and worked for Tektronix. She moved to Orem, Utah, in 2006, and finally to Sisters, Oregon, in 2010, where she lived until her passing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many calling in the Church and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP). She enjoyed sewing her own clothes and crocheting. For many years, she won blue ribbons at the state fair in baking and canning. Ethel was a very caring and loving mother. She gave service whenever she saw the need. She loved being with family and friends. She is survived by the following: Daughter, Louise (Nick) Zones, of San Jose, California; Sons: James (Gwen) Lindsay, of Augusta, Georgia; Kenneth (Peggy) Lindsay, of Sisters, Oregon; and Brent (Sharon) Lindsay, of American Fork, Utah; 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Lindsay; brothers: Henery Fowers and Frank Fowers, and a sister, Ella Bell Fowers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
