Ethel Davidson Lords, 81, of Chubbuck, died Feb. 23, 2011 at her home of natural causes. Access Hospice assisted the family with her care. She was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1929, in Parker, Idaho to Arland Lorenzo Davidson and Sarah Elizabeth Pearce Davidson. She grew up in the Egin area of Fremont County and attended Edmunds High School where she graduated in 1948. On March 6, 1948, Ethel married Darrell Melvin Lords in Egin. Besides living in Egin they lived in Parker, St. Anthony, Aberdeen, and most recently in Chubbuck, Idaho. She worked for J.R. Simplot. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held positions in the Relief Society as a secretary, a Primary teacher, and Young Women's President. Ethel was an avid reader, enjoyed needlework, studying the gospel, doing genealogy and extraction work, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking and cleaning for 5 boys and cutting up pancakes and meat for her girl. "Grandma" as she was dearly known (except by one great-granddaughter as the grandma with the cool finger) was loved by her entire family. Her greatest joy was her family and she remembered every birthday including grandchildren, great grandchildren, their spouses, and her nieces and nephews. Ethel is survived by the following: Husband, Darrell Lords of Chubbuck; Sons: Lorin (Vicky) Lords of Lehi, UT; Alan (Meledy) Lords of Lyman, WY; Steven (Debra) Lords of West Valley, UT; Garth (Tina) Lords of Atlantic, IA; and Keith (Nancy) Lords of Chubbuck; Daughter, Barbara (Alan) Johns of Montpelier, ID; 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; Brothers: Alvin Davidson of Sugar City, ID and Myrl (Eva) Davidson of Aberdeen, ID; and a Sister, Anna Adams of St. George, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters: Blanche Christensen and Thelma White. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2011, at the Chubbuck LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 450 James Ave. with Bishop Gary Anderson officiating. The family will visit friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at the church and Monday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
