Eugene "Geno" Louis Mauro, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 9, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Geno was born July 13, 1941, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Guissepe Mauro and Rosa Fratto Mauro. He grew up in Idaho Falls and in 1961, graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He married Saundra Graham in Idaho Falls and they were later divorced. He married Danise Jex and they were later divorced. He and Judy Talbot were together from 1996 to 2008. Geno's first job was at Blue Bell Gas Station. He then had Geno's Bar on First Street next to the family home. His band, The Savoy's, included his younger bother, Jim, and they played at Geno's Bar. He also had Geno's Electric Tune-Up. Later, he moved his young family to Seattle, Washington, to work for Boeing. He was a master mechanic and helped build the first 737 Airplane. He moved back to Idaho Falls and was a mechanic at Al's Chevron and later at Geno's Garage. He was forced to retire due to medical reasons. Geno loved music of all kinds. He taught himself how to play the guitar which he loved playing. He also loved animals. Geno lived life on his own terms. He is survived by the following: Daughters: Shari Pehrson of Idaho Falls and Julie (Shane) Lee of Spokane, WA; Grandsons: Jason Pehrson and Jonathon Pehrson both of Idaho Falls; Granddaughters: Brianna Lee and Sophia Lee both of Spokane, WA; Brothers: John and Jim Mauro both of Idaho Falls, and Leo (Mary) Mauro of California; Niece, Crystal (Rick) Dial of Shelley; Nephews: Jimmy (Stephanie) Mauro of Montana and Jeremy (Erica) Mauro of Idaho Falls; Special friends: Shelley Mathie, Judy Talbot, and Jack Berkheimer all of Idaho Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Coltrin Mortuary with Joe Pehrson conducting. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
