Eunice E. DeWald Knorr Ferguson, 92, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020, at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice and her niece, Jodi Young, who cared for her to the end.
Eunice was born on August 16, 1928, in Falls City, Nebraska to Jake D. and Jesse Iola Gafford DeWald. She spent her early years in Falls City, after high school she went to stay with relatives in York, Nebraska where she met and married Clarence Knorr. They had one son, Charles (Chuck) Knorr. They were later divorced.
In 1960, she married Jerry Ferguson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Eunice was very enterprising. In her early years, she sold accordions and sewing machines for a local company. In her later years, she was in charge of demos in several local grocery stores and headed up smoke enders in the western region.
She was a talented seamstress, oil painter, and writer. She was a member of the Idaho Writers Guild and author of several books.
Eunice was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Chuck (Lora) Knorr; grandson, Dorian Knorr; her sisters: Roberta Taylor and Kay Pottorff; a special friend, Marrion Morgan; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Ferguson; brothers-in-law: John Taylor and Denny Pottorff; two nieces and nephews.
There was an informal gathering of family and friends at her home. Inurnment will be at the Iona Cemetery at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
