Obituary

Eva “Evie” Jean Haroldsen Jorgensen, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at her home. She was under the care of Brio Hospice.

Evie was born on May 19, 1938, in Idaho Falls, to Morgan and Eliza Yeates Haroldsen. She grew up in St. Leon, Idaho. Evie graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1956. She attended Hollywood Beauty College and Eastern Idaho VoTech School after working at the Sugar Factory until it closed.

On June 14, 1956, she married Tommy Gene Jorgensen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, and they later divorced.

Evie grew up in St. Leon, and attended St. Leon School, O.E. Bell Jr. High, and Idaho Falls High School. She lived in Idaho Falls throughout her life. She had her own beauty shop on Bannock in Idaho Falls. Evie worked as a lunch lady and at the Sugar Factory, always doing hair on the side. She worked as a secretary for Bonneville County in child support collection and later worked as a court clerk for Judge Riddoch, retiring from that position.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as camp director on both ward and stake levels and later served in many church positions, as well as working in the temple regularly. Evie loved to dance, and she served as a dance director in Idaho Falls shortly after being married. She enjoyed riding horses and had one she loved dearly, and she also enjoyed playing the French horn.

Evie had many friends and loved and served her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters Kathy Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Kelly (Pat) Decker of Buffalo, Minnesota; sons Kyle Jorgensen of Shelley, Idaho, and Kendall (Sandy) Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan and Eliza Haroldsen; sisters Zola, Nola, and Lillian; and grandson Kuade.

Graveside service will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
