Eva Deanna Ruth McGary, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Gables of Ammon. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
Eva was born on September 29, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Charles Wesley and Emma Sparr. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1961. She went on to Steven Henager College and earned an associate degree in Accounting.
On May 18, 1968, she married Jerry Yale McGary in Idaho Falls. To this union, two children were born: Lori and Bryan. They were later divorced in 1986. She made her home in Idaho Falls.
Eva worked for Michael's Dresses before taking a job as an accountant for Idaho National Laboratory where she retired from in 2000.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in the Relief Society.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, and baking pies. Her favorite hobby was to be with her family and just being in charge. Our mom was a loving, stubborn, chocoholic, independent, and a goof.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Kirt) Blanchard of Chester, Idaho; her son, Bryan J (Jennifer) McGary of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her granddaughter, Katherine Tyler of Chester, Idaho; her brother, Ray (Marie, deceased) Hogan of Blackfoot, Idaho; and her sister-in-law, Ruth (Dennis, deceased) Hogan of Shelley, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters: Bernice, Elise, Dorothy, and Kay; and her brothers: Dennis, Buster, and George.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Taylor Cemetery with Bishop Josh Roos officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-10:00 a.m., Saturday prior to services at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
