Evelyn Elizabeth Evans, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Lincoln Court Retirement Center. She was under the care of Enhabit Hospice.

Evelyn was born on February 23, 1933, in Sussex, England, to Fred Prested and Emily Pilgrim Prested. She grew up in Northamptonshire, England.

On March 9, 1964, she married her sweetheart, Clifton H Evans, in Vancouver, Washington. They were blessed with one daughter, Karen. The family made their home in Mountain Home, Idaho, and Lester Creek Guard Station until 1985, when her husband retired. Once her husband retired, they moved to Middleton, Idaho. Clifton passed away on April 27, 1993.

In 2003, Evelyn moved to Driggs, Idaho to be closer to her daughter.

She was a member of the Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling with her family, or just being surrounded by her loved ones. She was loved by many and will be missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Schmitter of Driggs, Idaho; her grandsons: Michael Schmitter of Ucon, Idaho and Christopher Schmitter of Driggs, Idaho; and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Evans; and her brothers: Ken Prested and Eric Prested.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. A gathering with a light lunch will be held following the services.
