Faun Arlene Dutson, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Faun was born to Henry Edwin and Caroline Gneiting Miller on April 6, 1933, in Menan, Idaho, the youngest of ten children. She spent her childhood years in Menan attending high school in Rigby.

After high school, she moved to Idaho Falls and began working in a real estate office where she met the love of her life, William Dutson. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on January 30, 1953. She was dedicated to raising her nine children (and husband): Rodney (Vickie), Diana Tew, Brent (Cheryl), Kevin (deceased), Nancy (Rod) Patterson, Sandra (John) Terrill, Larry (Janene), Joe (Emily), and Alan (Joanna).

Faun had many hobbies and interests. Her greatest joy in life was being involved in her children's lives and spending time with Bill. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family on the telephone, reading, crocheting, making quilts, cooking, visiting children who lived far away, journaling, and family history. She struggled for many years with her arthritis and never complained about her limited mobility. She looked forward to the day when she could run and hike and be free from pain.

Faun served in many church callings and received great fulfillment in serving others. She was involved in the PTA while her children were young and continued to support them no matter what decisions they made in their lives. Her greatest heartbreak was loosing their 4-year-old son, Kevin, to hepatitis in 1963. She often spoke of him and continued to miss him throughout her life.

Faun had the unique ability to make everyone she met her friend, she was able to draw them into her circle of friendship, show them love and respect.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, 8 children, 46 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren and one older sister, Luana Rainey. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Faun was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin, and 8 siblings : Belva Delsie Clark, Velma, Ray Edwin, Elden James, Eunice Sophia Youngstrom, Delbert Deloy, Arzula Deltha Ellis and Gene LaFaye.

Funeral services will be at 11a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Iona LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 4459 John Adams Parkway (corner of John Adams & Crowley Rd.) with Steven Boyle, Bishop's counselor officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
