July 3, 1942 – April 1, 2022
Forrest Dale Strobel was born July 3, 1942, to Arthur and Dorothy Strobel Meckle and passed away April 1, 2022, at home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. When his mother passed away, he was adopted at six months old by his Uncle John Strobel and his wife, Anna Mertz Strobel.
He married Judy Ann Rolfson on December 19, 1964. He and Judy had three children: Wade Scott, Michael John, and Michelle Irene. Judy passed away on May 23, 1999. Forrest married Sandy Criddle Strobel on March 16, 2007.
Forrest joined the US Army on April 14, 1960, and served until April 24, 1962. He spent the majority of his time in Germany. He worked as a baker for Sweetheart Bakery and then a baker for Buttreys Grocery. He drove a truck with his son, Wade, and retired from the City of Lyman, Wyoming. He always worked hard at keeping the area in which he lived cleaned up nice, whether it be mowing, or taking care of weeds and leaves. He even swept the streets in our area.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; children: Wade (Ericka) Strobel of Pleasanton, Texas, and Michelle Hysell of Aurora, Colorado; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his stepchildren: Alyn (Melinda) Criddle of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Delynn Ball of Phoenix, Arizona; biological sister, Carol Martin of Harvey, North Dakota; sisters: Mary Werle of Velva, North Dakota, and Debbie Gunsch of Mandan, North Dakota.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Judy; his biological parents; adoptive parents; son, Michael John Strobel; sister, Connie Rygg; brothers: Eldon, Alan, and Larry Meckle, and Johnny Ray Strobel; sisters: Gertie Laib and Linda Doll; brothers-in-law: Reuben Martin, Edward Doll, Ervin Gunsch, Bill Werle and Willie Laib.

At the request of Forrest, there will be no services. He will be buried at a later date in the South Lincoln Cemetery in Kemmerer, Wyoming. Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com .
