Francis M. Atwood, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 30, 2011, at his home of natural causes. He was born October 28, 1950, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Truman Glen Atwood and Delta Irene Peterson. He grew up in Idaho Falls. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1969. He learned the auto body trade from taking classes at Powell's Auto Body. On December 30, 1998, he married Delores Anderson in Idaho Falls. She passed away June 21, 2007. During his career, Francis was employed by American Fabrication, Industrial Contractors, and Anderson Lumber Company. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Francis enjoyed going to car shows and showing his vintage pickup, doing auto restoration, camping, fishing, Sunday morning breakfast with his kids, gardening, carpentry, and having coffee with his friends. Francis was a dedicated husband, friend, step-father, brother and was dedicated to his little dog, Mazee. He is survived by the following: Sister, Della Atwood of Caldwell, Idaho; Brother, Ferris (Edith) Atwood of Idaho Falls;Sister, Norma Neeley of Idaho Falls;Brothers: Truman D. (Renae) Atwood of Rigby; Dean R. (Austa) Atwood and Glen G. Atwood both of Idaho Falls; Brother-in-law, Dean Edie of Idaho Falls;9 step-children and numerous step-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Francis was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lynn Atwood; a sister, Marion Edie; a brother-in-law, Everett Neeley; a niece, a nephew, and a great-nephew. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery with Bishop Greg Poulter officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
