Obituary

Frank George Hynek, 104, of Ammon, died March 7, 2018, at his home.

Frank was born September 21, 1913, in Racine, WI to Simon and Mary Kohkl Hynek. Frank grew up and attended school in the Nampa, and Emmett Idaho areas.

In 1935, he married Myrtle Bell Rogers in Emmett Idaho. They raised 3 children: Sharon, Shirley, and Robert. She died in February 2003.

Frank worked as a construction superintendent all throughout Southern Idaho. He lived in Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls. He built Highland High School, and the Holt Arena in Pocatello; the South Blackfoot Exit (exit 89 from I-15); the Idaho State Prison, and the Public Works Building in Boise; and the old Rigby High School in 1955.

Frank loved fishing. He loved any that he could get a hook on. In the winter he would tie flies. He belonged to the Good Sam Club while living in Emmett and Nampa.

He is survived by two daughters: Sharon Wulfekuhle (Edward, deceased) of Idaho Falls, and Shirley Spraker (Richard, deceased) of Pocatello; and son, Robert Hynek (Joyce) of Pocatello; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle; his parents; and two sons-in-law.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
