Gary Lane "G-Man" Thompson, 50, of Idaho Falls, died June 4, 2011, at his home. He had been under the care of Hearts for Hospice. He was born July 12, 1960, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Rao Glenn Thompson and Erma Phillips Thompson. He grew up in Ammon and Idaho Falls. He attended Bonneville high School and in 1991, he earned his G.E.D. On August 26, 1983, he married Patricia Marie Wray in Idaho Falls. Gary worked for Logan Farm Equipment as a welder and at Wold Specialty Trades as a framer and hanger. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gary enjoyed fishing, animals, hiking, cross country skiing, model cars, and in his younger years he enjoyed camping. Gary had a twinkle in his eyes when he would smile that would light up the room. He is survived by the following: Wife, Patricia Thompson of Idaho Falls; Daughter, Shandara (Adrian) Judy of Idaho Falls; Son, Tim (Heather) Thompson of Idaho Falls; Sisters: Lynn (Theron) Nelson of Idaho Falls; Marsha (Gary) Walton of Shelley; Carol (David) Snarr of Idaho Falls; Barbara (Kent) Abplanalp of Hurricane, Utah; Vicky (Curtis) Kawaguchi of Roy, Utah; Wendy Thompson of Idaho Falls; Brothers: Robert (Neda) Thompson of Idaho Falls and Jim (Beth) Thompson of Winnemucca, Nevada; Father-in-law: James (Mary) Wray of Filer, Idaho; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rao and Erma Thompson, and mother-in-law, Janet Wray. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, at the Yellowstone LDS Ward Chapel, 2967 E. 105 N., Ucon with Bishop John Holst officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and at the church Friday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ucon cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gary Thompson Memorial Fund at any Bank of Commerce location.
