Gay W. Leming, 61, of Idaho Falls, died Sunday, August 6, 2017, at home surrounded by her family after battling cancer. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.

Gay was born on June 1, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Dale J. and Alice L. Weatherston. She grew up in the Idaho Falls area, where she attended Skyline High School.

On March 5, 1994, she married Gary L. Leming in Idaho Falls. They made their home in Idaho Falls where they raised their family.

Gay worked for many years at Smith's Grocery Store. She then began working for the City of Ammon as the building permit tech for the last 14 years.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her greatest time was spent with her family, golfing, bowling and playing cards.

She was a selfless, loving, sassy sarcastic woman who was fiercely devoted to her family. Tough on the outside with a heart of gold, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Leming, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her children: Jennifer Garcia (Brady Lish), of Rigby, Idaho, Audrey Brough (Alex Lembrau), of Chandler, Arizona, Tanner Leming, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her stepchildren: Ivy (Rob) Abel, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Amy Jorgensen, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Taundra (Matt) Arbuckle, of Tualatin, Oregon, Michelle (Dave) Mellick, of Hayden, Idaho, and Sabrina (Chris) Stalnaker, of Germany; Also survived by her sister, Joy (Steve) Bird, her brother, Rick Weatherston, her nephews: Chris (Jess) Bird and Bret Bird; her niece, Stephanie Summers; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Dale J. and Alice L. Weatherston; her two nephews: Jason Bird and Jeremiah Bird; and her stepson, Jimmy Leming.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the LDS Church, 3195 South Holmes (corner of Homes and Sunnyside). The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m, Friday, August 11, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
