Gaylan K. Gibbons, 73, of Ucon, died August 6, 2020, at her home. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.
Gaylan was born June 6, 1947, in Jerome, ID to Herbert Alene Benegar McDonald. She grew up and attended schools in Jerome. She graduated from Jerome High School in 1965.
On October 25, 1968 she married Paul D. Gibbons in Carson City, NV.
Gay and Paul lived in Pocatello, and St. Anthony, ID before settling in Ucon to raise their two boys. Over the years Gay did secretarial work for many doctors in the area until she retired in 2007 after 12 years of working for Dr. M.O. Hunnington.
Gay loved to go meet up with her girlfriends monthly for a round of golf and lunch and did so up until March of this year.
Gay enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, shopping, spending her winters in the warm and sunny south, being a dog mom, and a grandmother.
Gay was a spunky, charismatic, and loving woman that brought light and laughter, to everyone around her. Her passion and love for her family truly defined who she was.
Gay is survived by her husband Paul Gibbons, of Ucon, ID; 2 sons: Martell Gibbons of Idaho Falls, and Gabriel Gibbons (Lucinda) also of Idaho Falls; a step-son, Todd Chase of Boise, ID; sister, Carolyn Jensen (Terry) of Twin Falls, ID; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Gay was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Alene McDonald.
An Open House will be held from 12 (noon)-2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020, at the Gibbons home. Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First ST. Idaho Falls.
