Gayle A. Ferguson, 80, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Lily and Syringa Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls.

She was born May 28, 1936, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Curtis Smith Armstrong and Ada Grace Hobbs Armstrong. Gayle grew up in Robin, Idaho. She graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1954. She attended Brigham Young University.

On May 29, 1965, she married Lloyd H. Ferguson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Idaho Falls, Boise; Miles City, Montana; Fillmore and Vernal, Utah before returning to Idaho Falls.

Gayle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings in her ward and stake.

She enjoyed crocheting, painting, making porcelain dolls and doing crafts .

Gayle was a kind hearted, giving, caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She is survived by the following:  Daughters: Melanie (Tim) James of Brigham City, Utah and Angi (Danny) Norris of Green River, Wyoming; Sons: Russell (Kerrie) Ferguson of Syracuse, Utah and Shawn (Sharon) Ferguson of Idaho Falls,

14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Gayle is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd on February 9, 2016; a son-in-law, Dan Hacking, and a brother, Lyle Armstrong.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Coltman LDS 3rd Ward Chapel 6925 North 15th E. Idaho Falls with Bishop Kim Schuldt officiating. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls, and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Grant Central Cemetery.
