Obituary

Geneva "Jean" Mae Gianchetta, 84, of Idaho Falls, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2012, surrounded by loving family members: her son, daughters, and sister. Jean was under the care of her son, Preston, and was assisted with her care by Teton Hospice and Qualicare. Jean was born November 25, 1927, in Idaho Falls to Charles Wayne Leonardson and Mary Esther Lent Leonardson. She grew up in Medicine Lodge and Mud Lake areas. She attended Ucon High School and later attended Beauty College. Among the places she lived were Sunset, Utah; Corvallis, Montana; Twin Falls, Idaho; and most recently Idaho Falls. She managed Davis Lanes Bowling Alley, Lakeside Lanes and White City Bowl. She worked as a "Grandma" in the elementary school program for over 15 years. She was a member of the Utah and Idaho Bowling Hall of Fame. As a Christian she studied the Bible using her concordance. Jean loved working in the "Grandma" program and truly enjoyed her grandchildren. Her hobbies included bowling, watching Old Western movies, doing word search puzzles and painting with Tri-Chem paints on tea towels. Jean is survived by her children: Curt (Noreen) Gianchetta of Blackfoot, Idaho; Scott (Pat) Gianchetta of West Point, Utah; Preston (Bertha) Stafford of Idaho Falls; Kim Gianchetta of Boise, Idaho, and Teri (Randy) Blake of Mt. Green, Utah; 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanne (Noel) Gotch of Shelley, Idaho, and a brother, Art Leonardson of Great Falls, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gail Leonardson, and a sister, Margie Cleverly. Private family services will be held at a later date.
