Genevieve Williams Robertson, 94, of Idaho Falls, died March 8, 2011, at Parkwood Meadows. She was born June 26, 1916, in Talmage, Utah, the oldest of ten children born to Russell S. Williams and Leah Draper Williams. She grew up in the mining camps of Mohrland, Ferron, Rains, Columbia, and Price, Utah, where her father taught school. She spent several summers in Dehlin, Idaho, where her father dry farmed. She graduated from Carbon High School in Price in 1934. She received her nurse's training at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City from 1934-1936. Genevieve enjoyed attending dances, and that is where she met her future husband. On March 21, 1936, she married Oscar Gilbert Robertson in Coalville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 4, 1937. Oscar's work took the family to Salt Lake City, Twin Falls, Price, Salt Lake City again and Burley. Oscar passed away Oct. 17, 1988. After 43 years in Burley, Genevieve moved to Idaho Falls in 1996 and since 2006 has called Parkwood Meadows home. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was President of the Primary, Relief Society, and YWMIA, and was a chorister, teacher, temple ordinance worker and extraction worker. Genevieve and Oscar enjoyed traveling to most of the United States, the Holy Land, Scandinavia, the British Isles, Europe, Hawaii, the Caribbean Islands, Canada, Central America, New Zealand, Australia, and Tahiti. We call her Mom, Granny, Gen, Gennie or Genevieve and she will be fondly remembered for her delicious meals, stash of dark chocolate, beautiful quilts and afghans, love of good literature, love of children, musical talents of harmonizing and conducting, love of the language, faith and dedication, love of dance and the Big Band Era, flowers in her garden, wintergreen lifesavers, a hanky in her purse, blue Camry with "Granny" on the license plates, and her partnership with Oscar in the Continental (Conoco) Oil business. Genevieve is survived by the following: Sons: Scott (Diane) Robertson of Meridian, ID; Neil (RaeDene) Robertson of Burley, ID; Gail (Rosemary) Robertson of Brookings, SD; Daughter, Beth (Robert) Turner of Idaho Falls; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; Sister, Joyce (Jack) Chiaretta of Price, UT; Brothers: Russell (Sam) Williams of Hurricane, UT, and Claud (Carol) Williams of West Fir, OR. Besides her husband, Oscar, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Beth, Fay, Fern, Hope, Pauline, and Kathleen; and a great-grandson, Nolan Robertson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Coltin Mortuary, 2100 First St., in Idaho Falls with Scott Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011, at Coltrin Mortuary, and one hour prior to the services.
