George Francis Fulkerth Marshall, 91, passed away October 24, 2009. He was born on Feb. 28th 1918, in Versailles, Ohio, to Charles Fulkreth and Emma Florence Magoto Fulkreth. He came to Idaho Falls in April of 1923 with his mother and four older siblings. His father Charles had passed away during the 1918 flu epidemic. His mother married an old friend, Michael Nicholas Marshall, whom she knew in Ohio. They had 2 children. He attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. George married Delpha Billeter Walz of Rexburg in Blackfoot, Idaho, on June 26, 1943. He farmed all his life and was still active in farming his farm with his son until his death. He was a life member of the Elks Club and was a long time member of the Idaho Cattleman's Association. George was a member of the Catholic Church. He loved working hard on the farm putting up crops and working with his cattle. He enjoyed spending time at his place in Island Park, fishing with his buddies as well as being an avid football fan. However, what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family, relatives and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Delpha W. Marshall of Idaho Falls; daughters: Trudy (Milton) Butler, of San Antonio Texas, and Elaine Marshall Childs of Salt Lake City, Utah; a son, Michael (Kelli) Marshall; a daughter, Patricia (Fred) Walker, both of Idaho Falls; 2 sisters: Francis Slayton of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Florence Shively of Belleview, Washington; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Jim Marshall and Raymond Marshall; 2 sisters: Helen O'Brien and Jeanette Gardner. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. with Mike Marshall officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the services, both at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Idaho Humane Society.
