Obituary

George Allen Gheen, 55, of Blackfoot, died April 19, 2007, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

He was born August 2, 1951, in Ogden, Utah, to Stephen George Gheen and Afton Scofield. He grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot. He graduated from Blackfoot High School, Snow College, and Idaho State University. He served with the U.S. Navy in Viet Nam.

On May 25,1990, he married Jackie Lynn Schmidt in Pocatello.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a member of the Blackfoot American Legion Post # 23.

He enjoyed woodworking, computers, fishing, camping, and playing with his grandchildren; Cole, Dylan, Rilee, Chelsea, Cody, Exzavior, J. J., Amber, Albert, Bobby, and baby Schweppe.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Gheen of Blackfoot; 3 sons: Stephen (Amy) Gheen, Jeremy (Dawn) Williams and Jacob Schweppe all of Idaho Falls; 3 daughters: Jennifer (Brian) Williams of Pocatello; Lauralee Dahlquist of Bakersfield, California; and Melissa (Bill) Strittmatter of Ontario, Oregon; his mother, Afton Gheen of Blackfoot; sister, Rosemary (Dee) Sandou of Blackfoot and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen George Gheen, and a grandson, Christopher Dahlquist.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Monday evening April 23, 2007, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary and Tuesday one hour prior to the services.
