George Mark Hill, 86, of Ammon, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
He was born on March 13, 1939, to Mark Eugene Hill and Leonora Andrus Hill in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in Shelley, Idaho, and graduated from Shelley High School in 1957. He then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand.
On June 24, 1983, he married Kairle Lister in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He worked on the family farm before going to work for the Department of Energy at the INL.
He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America, Ham Radio, airplanes, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Kairle Hill; his 5 children; his brothers: Gene Hill, John (Marsha) Hill, Bill Hill, Tony (Kristine) Hill, and Mario Hill; his sister, Anne Klucken; his brother-in-law, Dennis Wheeler; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Leonora Hill; his sister, Lola Wheeler; and sisters-in-law: Linda Hill and Joan Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2025, at Ammon 3rd Ward, 2150 Avocet Drive, Ammon. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent online to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
