Geraldine Ruth Marie Kurtz, 94, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Parkwood Meadows. She was under the care of Creekside Hospice. She was born January 18, 1915, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1933. She attended a teachers college for 2 years. She then moved to Sussex, Wisconsin. On August 1, 1936, she married Elmer Kurtz in Sussex, Wisconsin. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1964 where she worked in the office at the LDS Hospital and later for Westinghouse until her retirement. She was a member of the Episcopalian Church and she did volunteer work for the Red Cross. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, reading and garage sale shopping. Geraldine was a great mother and good friend. She is survived by a daughter, Karen (Boyd) Poole of Idaho Falls and a son, Paul Kurtz of Boise; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Kurtz in 1994. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 270 N. Placer, Idaho Falls with Reverand Susan Speir officiating.
