Glen Edward Eiman, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Lincoln Court Retirement Center with his family by his side. He was under the care of Encompass Hospice.
Glen was born on June 16, 1929, in Pocatello, Idaho, to John Harvey and Zina Viola Hawkley Eiman. He attended school in Pocatello, Cedron, Idaho Falls, and Nampa, Idaho. He graduated in 1948, from Idaho Falls High School. His last two years of high school he also worked at Old Faithful Beverage Company.
After he graduated he served in the United States Navy for four years. He was honorably discharged in September of 1952.
On July 28, 1951, he married Gayle Annette Miller at her parents' home in Idaho Falls. They honeymooned in Yellowstone National Park. After serving aboard his ship to Japan and Korea Glen and Gayle lived in San Diego, California for four months.
He worked at Idaho Falls Wholesale, farmed with Gayle's brother one summer and then was asked to come back and work at Old Faithful Beverage Company, as production manager, he worked there for 38 years. He retired in 1989.
After retirement, they became Snowbirds to Quartzsite, Arizona.
Glen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Glen and Gayle were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on February 1, 1975. In the church, he served as historical clerk, membership clerk, ward clerk, executive secretary to two bishops, on the high council and as first counselor in the Bishopric.
Together, Glen and Gayle, served a mission in the Salt Lake City Family History Mission. They also have served as Stake Missionaries and Stake Baptism Coordinators.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gayle Annette Eiman, his children: Gayle Diane (David) Homer, of West Jordan, Utah, Glenda Kay (Marshal-deceased) Wade, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Terry Paul (Marilyn) Eiman, of Gig Harbor, Washington; 7 grandchildren, and 18 Great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Robert, Johnnie, Delbert, and Paul; and one grandson, Andrew Wade.
Glen was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is loved by all who knew him and will be missed very much by all of us.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the LDS Church, 2055 Coronado. A visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
