Gloria E. Stedtfeld, 89, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016, surrounded by her immediate family at her home of natural causes. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

She was born December 31, 1926, in Pocatello, Idaho, the daughter of Ernest Ellis and Alice Banyard Ellis. She grew up and attended schools in Pocatello. Gloria graduated from Pocatello High School in 1944.

She became a dental assistant and worked for Dr. John Messmore. Later, she became a licensed practical nurse and worked at the Lost Rivers Hospital in Arco. After moving to Idaho Falls, she worked in cardiac care at the Sacred Heart Hospital and then at Good Samaritan Village.

Everything Gloria enjoyed doing was "all about the family". She enjoyed knitting stocking hats, scarves and slippers for family and patients in the medical facilities where she worked.

On March 2, 1945, she married Robert G. Stedtfeld in Pocatello. She was the best and most caring spouse and mother a person could ask for!

Gloria is survived by the following: husband, Robert G. Stedtfeld of Idaho Falls; sons: Steve (Nancy) Stedtfeld of Boise and Jon (Judy) G. Stedtfeld of Arco; sisters: Nancy Anthony of Pocatello; Jean Thomas of Pocatello; and Geraldine Harvey of Salt Lake City; brothers: Paul Ellis of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Bud Ellis of Pocatello; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Don Ellis.

At Gloria's request, there will be no services held. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
