Grace Esther Barrow, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014, at The Gables in Ammon. She was under the care of her family and Encompass Hospice. She was born July 7, 1926, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the third of six children born to Harry Christian Jensen and Esther Wessel Jensen. She grew up at 1098 S. Boulevard in her father's grocery store. She attended school in Idaho Falls until the 9th grade when her mother became ill. She later attended Hinager's Beauty College. On November 29, 1946, she married Earl J. Barrow in St. John's Lutheran Church in Idaho Falls. He passed away May 27, 2003. She was a homemaker, worked at the AEC (Atomic Energy Commission) building on First St. for ten years before retiring in 1983. She was a baptized and confirmed member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She was a vocal student of Paterlo De Gosie. Grace was a member of the Hi-Lo Club for thirty years where she enjoyed Sunday dinners and playing Pinochle and Bingo. Besides singing, she loved painting pictures and anything inside or outside the house and playing the organ. Grace was funny with a great sense-of-humor and could always make everyone smile. She always had a positive attitude for life. She is survived by the following: Daughters: Beverly (Kay) Stephens, Vickie (Bob) Riordan, Gayle (Rick) Swainston and Terri (Dan) Kelly all of Idaho Falls, and Nola (John) Emery of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Brothers: Harry R. Jensen of Boise, Idaho, and Frank A. (Anna) Jensen of Yuma, Arizona, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband; 2 sisters: Evelyn Keating and Ruth Spear; and a brother, Bobby Jensen. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 290 7th St., Idaho Falls, with Pastor Travis Guse officiating.
