Gregory Kent "Greg" Miller, 58, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Thursday, July 1, 2010. He was born July 6, 1951, in Anaconda, Montana, to Robert Bruce Miller and Lois Arvish Miller. He graduated from Anaconda High. He later attended Montana State University graduating with a master's degree in engineering mechanics. Greg married Mary B. Street in Idaho Falls on August 14, 1998. Greg worked for the Department of Energy for 33 years. He was a major part of the INL's Fourth Generation Nuclear Reactor research activities. He is listed in "Who's Who in America in Science and Engineering". His research and publications in engineering journals has resulted in several Universities developing engineering college courses based on his research. Many researchers around the world have cited his work in their journal articles. He was nationally and internationally recognized for his accomplishments in the advancement of the Fourth Generation Nuclear Research in the fuel's area. Greg was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Greg was an avid fisherman, hunter, hiker, and skier. If it could be done outdoors, he could do it. He loved the outdoors of Montana and Idaho. Every person who knew Greg knew of his kindness, love, and generosity. He truly loved his fellowman. Greg is survived by the following: wife, Mary Miller of Idaho Falls; son, Ross Miller of Idaho Falls; mother, Lois Miller of Anaconda;brothers: Dr. Richard Miller, Arthur Miller, and Harold Miller all of Anaconda, and Robert (Rose Mary) Miller of Helena. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Miller. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Coltrin mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the services both at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
