Guila M. Hillman, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls following a stroke. Guila was born November 26, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Theo Barton Eddington and Irene Hodgson Eddington. She attended school in Osgood and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. On June 3, 1948, she married Joseph Rex Hillman in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They celebrated 31 years of marriage. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as a primary and Sunday school teacher, ward librarian, and Young Women secretary for 20 years. Guila loved singing in stake and ward choirs. Guila enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved reading, gardening, embroidery, and spending time at the family cabin. She is survived by her children: Becky (Clyde) Parker of Idaho Falls, Larry Hillman of Salt Lake City, UT; Brenda (Rodney) Allen of Ammon; and Connie (Steve) Hay of Idaho Falls; brother, Lee (Genie) Eddington; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Edna Eddington; husband, Rex; sisters: Wanda Allen and Irene Carpenter; brother, John Eddington; and infant daughter, Sharon Louis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at the LDS Church, 395 2nd Street with Bishopric Counselor, Jeff Covert officiating. The family will meet friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelley under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, ID.
