Harold Max Lee, 91, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Center. He was under the care of Encompass Hospice.
Harold was born on September 30, 1926, in Louisburg, Kansas to James T. and Elizabeth Miller Lee. He grew up in Louisburg and graduated from Louisburg High School in 1944. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas University.
In 1944, he joined the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in June 1946.
Harold married Jane Elbel in February 1950. Jane died on December 21, 1975. In 1977, he married Patsy Ralph. Patsy died in 1993. Harold later married Rowene Bird Goble who died in 2016.
He worked as a mechanical engineer in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Kansas City, Kansas; Brigham City, Utah and Idaho Falls, Idaho. In 1992 he retired from NRF (Naval Reactors Facility) part of Idaho National Laboratory contracted by Westinghouse.
Harold was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 56 and served on the Idaho Falls Veterans Ceremonial Team.
He enjoyed wood working and scenic drives. Harold was a loving, kind man to his family and many others.
He is survived by his daughter, Terri Anderson; his sons: James (Kathy) Lee and Robert Lee; step-sons: Jeff Trunzer, Sean (Jackie) Lee, Kevin Lee, Marlowe (Michelle) Goble, Douglas (Sheila) Goble; step-daughters: Cindy Whitaker, Carol Erekson, and Deserae Goble; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives: Jane Elbel Lee, Patsy Ralph Lee and Rowene Goble Lee; and his parents.
