Harriet Evelyn Bird Hyer, 76, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, February 11, 2008, at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes. She had been under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

She was born October 5, 1931 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Tilman Bird and Maud Harris Bird. She grew up on the family farm in Teton and in 1948, she graduated from Teton High School. She earned a associates degree from the Idaho Falls Business College.

She retired from EG&G of Idaho.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was a volunteer for the Democratic Party and a Grandmother volunteer at Longfellow Elementary School.

She loved to garden, read and study metaphysics, but most of all she loved Sunday breakfast with the girls.

Harriet was our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and giver of life lessons.

She is survived by the following: daughter, Ronda Storer (Glen) Gruver of Tucson, Arizona; sons: Shane and John Storer both of Idaho Falls; daughter, Rebecca Storer (John) Estes of Idaho Falls son, Charles "Eddie" (Tonya) Hyer of Pasadena, California; brother, Matt Bird of Teton, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rayleen Storer; her parents, Tilman and Maud Bird; and a brother, Tim Bird.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services.
