Harvey Edwin (Ed) Gord, 84, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019, at his home in Rigby. He was under the care of Solace Hospice.
Ed was born on December 12, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harvey Willard and Reta Jongejan Gord. He grew up in Salt Lake City where he attended school.
On September 1, 1956, he married Diane Viola Anderson in Nevada. To this union, two daughters and one son were born. They lived in Idaho and Washington.
While living in Washington, he started his own company. When the family moved to Idaho Falls he worked for Idaho National Lab. After retiring from the INL he worked for Idaho Falls Police Department taking fingerprints and helping citizens.
Ed was a BIG part of Citizens Watch Patrol.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting.
He was a man of honor and integrity and would help anyone in need.
He is survived by his daughters: Christy (Alan) Frisby of Fruitland, Utah, and Teresa (Brian) Burns of Rigby, Idaho; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Gord and his son, Wade Gord.
The family will visit with friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
