Harvey Elmer 'Buzzy' Killian Jr., 94, of Idaho Falls, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

Harvey was born on June 22, 1922, in Annis, Idaho, to Harvey Elmer and Alverta LaVon Hardcastle Killian. He grew up in Annis, Camas and Hamer, Idaho. He graduated from Hamer High School. Harvey attended Idaho State University before he joined the United States Army Air Force in 1942.

On May 29, 1946, he married Alta Harper in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Alta died on August 27, 2005. They started their married life in Dubois, Idaho, where they lived for 2 years. They then moved to Idaho Falls, where he lived in the same home until he passed away.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions throughout his life. Together, with his wife, they served a mission to Tonga. Their mission was one of the highlights of their service life.

Harvey was a genuine do it all kind of man. He was an accomplished auto mechanic working on all kinds of motors, from auto to airplane engines. He built the families first T.V. and repaired many others, all free of charge. He was a kind, generous, patient and loving man.

He was survived by his children: Harvey Val (Lynne) Killian, of Lindon, UT, Arne' (Lyle) Omanson, and Ann Killian, both of Idaho Falls, ID; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandsons, 35 great-granddaughters and 1 great-great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Killian; two sons: Kevin and Todd Killian; his parents, Harvey and Alverta LaVon Killian.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., today, November 26, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS North Stake Center, 955 Memorial Drive, with Bishop Shawn Ferguson officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed at the burial by the Bonneville Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
