IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hayden Todd
Holman
November 4, 1998 – October 2, 2021
With deep sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Hayden Todd Holman, age 22, our beloved husband, son, and friend. Hayden passed away peacefully at the St. George Regional Hospital on October 2, 2021, after collapsing in the 26th mile of the St. George Marathon. At the peak of health, Hayden participated in the race with his wife, mother, brother, and other family members.
Born November 4, 1998 (Idaho Falls, ID); Hayden is the third of five children born to Barry Layne and Judy Ann Andrus Holman . As a child, Hayden embodied a Peter Parker persona, an avid lover of all things Spiderman. Later, his passions shifted from shooting webs at strangers to freestyle and folkstyle wrestling at local tournaments with his dad and three brothers. In high school, Hayden joined the varsity wrestling team and represented Bonneville High School in the state wrestling tournament. After graduating in the Spring of 2017 and until his untimely death, Hayden was obsessed with all things outdoors: rock climbing, skiing, mountaineering, and chasing adventure from the crags at the City of Rocks to the peak of Mt. Hood.
Hayden's personal passion for adventure didn't stop at the trail, he heeded adventure in his faith as well. Hayden's adult life was shaped by his desire to serve a mission. In 2018, Hayden was called to serve the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Canada Halifax Mission. His commitment led him to Montreal where he learned French, served as Assistant to the President for eight months, and met the love of his life, Charlotte.
In the Fall of 2020, Hayden enrolled at Brigham Young University-Idaho with Charlotte, where he studied both French and Business. That winter, Hayden proposed to Charlotte and they were married and sealed in the Rexburg Idaho Temple on February 6, 2021. The summer after their wedding, the newlyweds traveled across Charlotte's native country, France, for another adventure with Charlotte's wonderful parents, William Ricardo and Geïsa de Barcellos.
During his mission, marriage, and throughout daily life, Hayden exemplified the spirit of Jesus Christ. Hayden was known for his huge heart, contagious smile, and willingness to serve whenever the opportunity presented itself. Hayden made an impact on his family, friends, and everyone he touched in Montreal, Halifax, France, Idaho, and beyond.
Hayden is survived by his wife, Charlotte Nathalie Nunes DeBarcellos Holman, Sugar City, Idaho; father, Barry Holman (Karin), Sugar City, Idaho; mother, Judy Andrus Lowder (McKay), Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Stetson B. Holman (Rachael), Boise, Idaho; brother, Justin Holman (Jaquoy), Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Treyton Holman, Chile Concepción South Mission; sister, Savannah Holman, Grand Canyon Village, Arizona; sister, Emma Lowder, Idaho Falls, Idaho; step-siblings: Tori (Lebrecht) and Derek Lowder; step-siblings, Cassidy, Ammon, Rachel, and Kerri Rice; grandparents, Bryce and Sherry Holman, Sugar City, Idaho; grandmother, Shirley Andrus, Ucon, Idaho
