Helen Ruth Lange Martin, 85, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

She was born July 6, 1922, in Bellingham, Washington, to Frank Hermann Lange and Ethel Alva Phare Lange. She grew up in Bellingham and graduated from Mt. Baker High School in 1940. She worked at the Defense Depot in Ogden, Utah.

In 1944, she married Carl L. Busch. He died in 1949. On July 3, 1952, she married Jack Richard Martin in Mt. Vernon, Washington. They lived in Burlington and Richland, Washington, and most recently Idaho Falls.

She was a volunteer at the Museum of Idaho. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, entertaining and spending time with her family.

She is survived by the following: husband, Jack R. Martin of Idaho Falls; daughter, Barbara (John) Galloway of Ammon; son, Carl (Chris) Martin of Colbert,Washington; daughter, Patty Nichols of Ammon; brother, Robert (Kathy) Lange of Bellingham, Washington; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2008, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
