Obituary

Herbert Blendon (Sonny) Rigoulot, 55, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, April 2, 2007, in Huber Heights, Ohio, of an apparent heart attack.

He was born February 17, 1952, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Herbert Hale Rigoulot and Darlene Blenda Shipp Rigoulot. He attended schools in Idaho Falls and Boise, Idaho. He won the first Soap Box Derby held in Idaho Falls in 1967, and won a trip to the World Finals in Akron, Ohio.

In 1969, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Medical Corp. He graduated from a Technical college with a degree as a computer technician.

In 1969, he married Jackie Delong in Denver, Colorado. She was killed in an automobile accident one year later. In 1974, he married Sandy Ellingford. They lived most of their lives in Washington. She died in 2001. In 2003, he returned to Idaho Falls to be near his widowed mother. He worked with his mother in her business, D & D Alterations where he was learning the trade of a tailor. In January, he moved to Huber Heights with plans to be married.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a member of the Bingham Lodge #14 IOOF; Lily Rebekah Lodge #33, and BPO Eagles #576. He was a former executive Vice President and founding member of the Vietnam Veterans of America #972 and he was a member of A. B.A.T.E. of Idaho motorcycle club.

He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, fishing, and taking long trips on his motorcycle. Herbert was a good husband, father, worker, and he had a good business mind.

He is survived by the following: 2 daughters; Terisa Erickson of Denver, Colorado, and Kristen Zimmerman of Spokane, Washington; 2 sons, Troy Rigoulot, and Brent Rigoulot; 3 grandchildren; his mother, Darlene Fullmer of Idaho Falls; 4 sisters, Dianna (Don) Latimer of Pocatello, Sonya Kimball of Preston, Caroline (Jim) Richards of Deer Park, Washington, Donalene Kimball of Port Townsend, Washington; one half-sister Debbie Rigoulot of Denver, Colorado; and one half-brother, Bryan Rigoulot of Denver, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father and both of his wives.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the Vietnam Memorial at Freeman Park. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team with Vietnam Veterans of America Idaho Falls chapter 972 as Color guard. Inurnment will be at a later date in Washington.
