Obituary

Herta Anna Schreyer, 94, of Ririe, Idaho, passed away Jan. 26, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. She was born Nov. 21, 1911, in Leubsdorf, Germany, the daughter of Gustav and Anna Bartzsch Kempe. She grew up near Dresden, Germany, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 in l928. She married Franz Paul Schreyer March 14, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. During her life, she lived in Germany; New York, Connecticut; California, St. George and Salt Lake City, Utah, and finally in Ririe, Idaho. She worked in a health food store while she lived at Laguna Beach. She was a talented artist. She enjoyed doing handwork, cooking, reading and she loved animals. She constantly expressed her love for America and the many opportunities and freedoms it provided for her and her family. She had great faith and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Survivors include: daughter, Elizabeth Moss (husband, Reed), Ririe, Idaho daughter, Norma Crockford (husband, James), Portland, Oregon 14 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franz; a son, Sig Schreyer; a grandson, Randy Rasmussen; and a great-grandson, Brian Ellsworth. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at the Holladay 4th Ward, 4917 Viewmont Street, Holladay, Utah, with Bishop Richard Reese officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at the Elysian Gardens of the Valley, 1075 E., 4580 S. Salt Lake City, Utah, under the direction of Mac Kay Cottonwood Mortuary.
