She was born on June 21, 1915, in Billings, Montana, to John B. Peil and Mary Katherine Marker Peil. She grew up in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

In April 1933, she married Daniel Gable. He passed away in September 1947. She married Don Evans; he passed away. She lived in Alpine, Utah until his death. She moved to Idaho Falls in April 1990.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Jay of Idaho Falls; a brother, Elmer R. Peil of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; a son, Gene Arthur Gable; a sister, Martha Kilthau; 3 brothers: Amiel, William and Ben Peil.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls with Pastor Dean Lifshay officiating.
