He was born October 6, 1937, in Tenaha, Texas, to Harvey C. Taylor and Gladis Moore Taylor. He grew up in Texas and in 1956, he graduated from Linden High School. He attended college for 2 years.
On April 13, 1962, he married Ila Ann Archibald in Reno, Nevada. He retired from the US Navy after 21 years of service as a Chief Electrician. Since 1962, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Union.
He was a member of the Elks and Eagle lodges. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, art work, boating, and bowling.
He was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great-grandpa; "Hold Your Watch Up".
He is survived by his wife Ila Ann Taylor of Idaho Falls; 2 daughters, Donnie (Gary) Clark of Swan Valley, ID, and Gaye Lynn (Eric) Reeves of Colorado Springs, CO; a son, Gerald H. (Tina) Taylor of San Diego, CA; a brother, Michael (Gail) Taylor of Arizona; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2006, at Rose Hill Cemetery with graveside rites by the Idaho Falls Elks Lodge. Memorial services will be immediately following at the Eagles Lodge, 635 Hemmer Dr. in Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Idaho Falls Eagles Lodge to be used specifically for Alzheimer's patients.
