Ila Blackburn Johnston, 94, passed away on April 29, 2022, in Livingston, Montana. She was born July 23, 1927, to Claude and Margaret Blackburn in Fort Hall, Idaho.

In 1972, Ila married Eugene Johnston. The two enjoyed working in various campgrounds during the summers. They enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. Ila was a wonderful baker and enjoyed sharing her pies with her many visitors.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very active in the church. She had a big heart and would help others wherever she could.

Ila lived with her daughter, Janet, for seven years in Livingston, Montana until her death.

Survivors include her sons: Floyd (Carol) Luton of Rhode Island, Rahman of Pocatello, Idaho, and Duane Blackburn of Rigby, Idaho; daughter, Janet Gray of Livingston, Montana. Stepchildren: Mike (Rosie) Johnston of Alaska, Janise (Keith) Washburn of Alaska, and Steve Johnston of Washington. Ila has seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Extended special families in Ila's life are Chris and Darcy Payne and family from Oregon, and Ken and Amy Gray and family of Livingston, Montana.

Ila was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Johnston; her parents; her sisters: Lucille Cutler and Marcy Clark, brothers: Lionel Blackburn, Huck Blackburn, and Bill Blackburn; Daughter, Sheila Blackburn; and son-in-law, Robert Gray.

At Ila's request, a graveside will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com .
