Obituary

Ila Bell Porter, 89, of Idaho Falls, died June 28, 2006, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.

She was born on August 20, 1917, to Hugh C. Martin Jr. and Ila Bell Priscott Martin. She lived in Swan Valley until she left at age 16 to attend high school in Idaho Falls. She completed training at the Idaho Falls LDS Hospital to become a Registered Nurse.

She married Raymond J Porter in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She worked as a nurse at various hospitals in Montana and Idaho and for several years at the INEL before she retired in 1979.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she and her husband served LDS missions in South Dakota, and at the Chicago and Mesa temples.

She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Arthur) Stones of Bountiful, UT; 3 sons, Steven (Janis) Porter of Idaho Falls, Dennis Porter of Idaho Falls, and Gary (Debbie) Porter of Centerville, UT; one sister, Marge (Fran) Anderson, and one brother, Alex Martin; 18 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and brothers, Hugh, Cliff, Wells, Fuller, and Delbert Martin.

Funeral services will be at 12 Noon July 5, 2006 at the Idaho Falls LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 955 Memorial Dr. with Bishop Larry Wilson officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
