Irene was born March 18, 1923, in Ventura, California, one of 5 daughters born to Simon Sanchez and Alexzandra Rojo Sanchez. She grew up in Ventura and Santa Barbara.

She married Joe Morales in Ventura.

She worked for the Ventura laundry for 30 years and then stayed home to be a full time mother.

She enjoyed camping with her family, barbecues at the park or at home, and watching her children and grandchildren participate sporting events.

When anyone asked Irene how she was feeling, she always reply with a smile on her face and say, "fine". Irene was always cheerful and pleasant; we will deeply miss our mother, mother-in-law, Grams, Great Grams, Great-great Grams, sister-in-law, and friend.

She is survived by the following: sons: Richard (Renee) Andrade of Kansas and Robert (Carol) Andrade of Oregon;daughter, Diane (Bill) Mason of California;sister, Rosalee Herandez of California; son, Art (Jan) Morales of Rexburg, ID;sister-in-laws: Lupe Morales, Sister-Carmilita CSC, and Lucretia Vogt;14 grandchildren; 23 Great-grandchildren; 2 Great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe; a daughter, Josie; and a son, Robert; sisters: Ethel, Becky, and Connie.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 328 W. 1 North, St. Anthony. Cremation was under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
