Anita Irene Graham Peterson, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by all of her children, Sunday, June 5, 2022. She was under the care of Brio Hospice.

Irene was born July 29, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James Laird Graham and Arvel Irene Palmer. She grew up in Salt Lake City and attended Granite High School, graduating in 1950. She attended Stevens Henager Business School for one year.

On December 18, 1952, she married Douglas Gary Peterson in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away on November 27, 2008. Irene worked at an attorney's office for two years, at Bella Vista Elementary School Lunchroom, and Albertson's Bakery in Salt Lake City. The family then moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1968, where she worked as a baker at Buttrey's Bakery for over 30 years. She then worked for IGA, Lifelink and Broulim's until her retirement.

Irene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Bonneville Art Association. She had many talents and enjoyed drawing, painting, cake decorating, sewing, quilting, crocheting, feeding the birds, crafts, and spending time with her family.

She was the best mom in the world. She was a friend to all, gave the best hugs, and was the perfect example of having Christlike love for everyone.

She is survived by her daughters: Jeralee (Randy) Neibaur of Newdale, Idaho, Jana (Ken) Peters of Pocatello, Idaho, Jolynn Reed of Ririe, Idaho, Jody Clements of Shelley, Idaho, Jeanine Nielson of Rexburg, Idaho, Jeana Peterson House of Chubbuck, Idaho; and her son, Douglas Jed (Rachelle) Peterson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 27 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Doris Ridge; her brother, Ronald Graham; and her husband, Douglas Gary Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Cottonwood Ward, 2200 Stafford Drive, Idaho Falls.  A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the service.
