Iris Clark Larsen, 95, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Beehive and Lily Home of natural causes. She was under the care of Creekside Hospice. She was born November 23, 1914, in Georgetown, Idaho, to Marion Charles and Ella Shepherd Clark. She grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Georgetown High School. She was valedictorian of her class. On November 10, 1937, she married Harold Mark Larsen. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1942. Harold died June 7, 1971. After she was married their family moved to Tacoma, then to Idaho Falls, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as the credit manager at JC Penny's from 1960 until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she held many positions. She also served a mission to San Antonio, Texas, in 1981. She belonged to many social groups over the years and gained many friends from her involvement in these groups. She was a world traveler, traveling to Greece, Israel, Ireland, Egypt, England and many other countries. She always traveled with her sisters. She was a collector of many things such as dolls, antiques, calendars and she loved to buy Hallmark cards for every occasion. She loved sports, especially the BYU football games. She loved to knit and crochet. She loved candy. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always patient, kind and loving. Her great joy was her 4 grandchildren, Troy, Curt, Shelli and Chad. She loved her family and loved her life. She is survived by the her son, Donn B. (Maralyn) Larsen of Idaho Falls; grandson, Troy Larsen of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandson, Curt (Holly) Larsen of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughter, Shelli (Greg) McBride of Idaho Falls; grandson, Chad Larsen of Idaho Falls; 8 great-grandchildren, Maddy, Bailey, Ryann, Mattie, Jake, Reagann, Presley, and Wyatt She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brother and 3 sisters. The family wishes to express their most sincere thanks to the nurses at Creekside Hospice and the wonderful staff at Beehive & Lily Home for the care & love they gave Iris for so many years.
