March 8, 1916 – July 29, 2006
He was born in Rib Lake, Wisconsin, to Jacob Sr. and Veronica Kissler Neitzer on March 8, 1916. He graduated in 1931 from Appleton Vocational High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sgt. from June 1945-Dec. 1946 as a Surgical Technician.
On May 20, 1944, he married Jessie Pearl Enge in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In his earlier years he worked as a meat cutter. He worked as a machinist and owned his own machine tool rebuilding business in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He moved to Pocatello in 1963 for health reasons. He worked as a machinist for Thiokol and then for Westinghouse at the AEC site, now known as the INL, until his retirement.
He belonged to a world wide nondenominational Christian fellowship group and dedicated his life to following the teachings of Christ.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren; Adria, Aaron, and Audrey.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a man of conviction, and keeper of the faith.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Neitzer of Idaho Falls, his son, Vernon (Elda) Neitzer of Skagway, Alaska, his daughter, Janice Neitzer of Rigby, a sister, Kathryn Schlinsog of Granton, Wisconsin, and 3 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; Martin, Frank, and Joe, and sisters; Thresa, Annie, Mary, and Lucy.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2006, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, in Idaho Falls with Robert Corfield and Joe Klucewich officiating.
