Obituary

Jacqueline Rae French (Jackie), 58, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Jackie was born on November 25, 1964, in Syracuse, Kansas to Sandra Louis and Billy Dean Truster and was later adopted by Ronald Diehl and Janice Helton Diehl when she was nine years old. She grew up in Syracuse, Kansas, and attended Syracuse High School. She received her GED in 1984 and in 1992 she received an associate degree in Word processing from Eastern Idaho Technical College.

Jackie was an incredible mom and best friend to two boys and the world's best grandma to two grandkids who were her whole world. Jackie was so many things to her family. An amazing mom, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, aunt, friend, rockstar, party animal, pool shark, Xena, dog mom, goofball, and an all-around one-of-a-kind human being. She was an amazing friend to so many, anyone who met her fell in love with her.

She loved the outdoors, whether it be cruising down a dirt road in a truck or on a four-wheeler, playing in the mud, sitting on a bank casting a line in the water, or sitting around a fire on a clear starry night with her family and an ice-cold beer in her hand. One of her favorite places to visit was Yellowstone National Park. She would get so excited, just like a kid on Christmas morning anytime she came across wildlife. Not to mention her love for hummingbirds and elephants, but especially her two dogs, Remi and Mazy.

After she was diagnosed with leukemia, she still had the best attitude toward life, she always made others smile even on her hardest days. She fought to enjoy life and make memories with her kids and grandkids as much as she could. She is one of the strongest people we know and so many lives will never be the same with her gone. She loved the simple things in life. She didn't need much to be happy other than her family or friends. She was taken way too soon but touched so many lives. The way her smile lit up a room will never be forgotten. The amazing memories she made with so many will never burn out or fade away. She will forever be in our hearts.

Jackie is survived by sons: Dustin (Ambur) French of Ammon, Idaho, and Tony (Alicia) Truster of Iona, Idaho; her mother, Janice Diehl of Clayton, North Carolina; her brother, Anthony "Bud" (Vickey) Truster of Hartville, Missouri; her sister, Candy Knackert of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and grandchildren: Kinlee and Silas Truster. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Diehl.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
